Interfaith Flame of Hope Chanting

In our daily lives it is easy to feel separated and cut off from the Source of what is, from other people, and even from ourselves. We are all looking for ways to overcome suffering in our lives, and to unify with our deepest selves as well as all other beings.

Interfaith Flame of Hope Chanting

Flame of Hope Interfaith Chanting is a practice in which we recite “Namu Amida Butsu”, or “Namu Jesus”, or Namu Adonai”, or “Namu Allah”, all which mean “I follow / return back to the source”, to my true self.

Through the practice of Flame of Hope Chanting, we heighten our spiritual awareness and we help ourselves and other to heal.

What is Flame of Hope Samadhi

Flame of Hope chanting has its roots in a practice called Nembutsu which started in Theravada Buddhism in India about 2000 years ago. The practice of Nembutsu creates unification with Amida Buddha (the great spirit of the universe), through the chanting recitation of the sacred name, Namu Amida Butsu, which means “I follow/return back to Amida Buddha.” Through the practice of Flame of Hope Chanting, people share and derive spiritual benefit for themselves and others.

Through Flame of Hope chanting, we realize that there is no separation between our own happiness and that of others. By genuinely wishing for others to overcome and reach peace and happiness, we contribute to our own well being and inner harmony. This is the core teaching of Mahayana Pure Land Buddhism.
