Tea Ceremony – Toronto

Tea Ceremony

The tea ceremony is a ritual way of preparing and drinking macha tea. The custom has been strongly influenced by Zen Buddhism. The ceremony itself consists of many rituals that have to be learned by heart. Almost each hand movement is prescribed. Basically, the tea is first prepared by the host and then drank by the guests. Eating something sweet enhances the flavour of the Macha.

On Oct 23rd from 1-4pm. Free!

This time you’ll be sitting on the chair.(instead of sitting on the Tatami)
